My personal statement
The Marine Corps first brought is to San Clemente over 20 years ago. I fell in love with it then and fought to return after each set of orders outside of California. Over our 22 years here, we have seen the dynamic growth, which was particularly remarkable when returning after an absence of several years at a time. This was both exciting to see the great resources, retail spaces, restaurants, coffee shops and residential development that came with this growth, as well as cause for responsible attention. As with my campaign against human trafficking here in San Clemente and throughout CA, it is my instinct to seek justice and services for those who need our help and support. Being good stewards to all people in town, as in our residents, our kids, our business operators, our visitors, and our transients alike, is the hallmark of being thoughtful and exceptional community members.
