Ralphs Skate Court to Reopen June 1

Post Date:05/29/2020 4:17 PM

5/29/2020…San Clemente, California… Beginning Monday, June 1 at 8 a.m. the City of San Clemente Ralphs Skate Court will open in alignment with the soft reopening plan approved by San Clemente City Council. To minimize large gatherings, which is currently not allowed per State and County guidelines, the skatepark and the court area will be monitored by City staff to comply with these guidelines. The City will be allowing 10 skateboarders per session and designating spaces for observers that maintain adequate social distancing.

All skateboarders must complete the online release and liability waiver located at For minors, the online reservation must be completed by a legal parent/guardian who is 18 years or older. Upon arrival, skaters must check-in with a staff member and verify their completion of the waiver to gain entry onto the court. The waiver form is only required to be completed once per skater. After completion, skaters are permitted to utilize the court without reservations or registration, court space permitting.

Pursuant to San Clemente Municipal Code § 10.64.050, all pads are required to enter the skate park – elbow, knee, and helmet. Individuals without proper equipment will not be authorized to enter the park. Skaters eight years old and younger must have an adult present at all times while using the skatepark.

Additionally, skatepark users should be advised of the following rules that will be enforced at the park while the soft reopening measures are in effect.

• Skatepark will be open daily 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.;

• Spectators must observe physical distancing – spaces will be appropriately marked alongside the court;

• The skate court will be cleared every hour by staff;

• Avoid close congregating along the rails while in the court;

• No lessons are permitted (SCMC §12.28.010).

We ask that all users follow physical distancing, handwashing, and public health guidelines. Modified operations are subject to change and will be adjusted as Federal, State and Local orders change.
