Civic Background: From 1999-2002, I had the pleasure of serving on the Events Committee for the City of Aliso Viejo. During that time, I was directly involved with budgeting, vendor selection, volunteer assignments and program development for community events, such as summer concerts, Easter egg hunts, Halloween parades and Santa’s arrival, to name a few.
Currently, I am the President of the Board of Directors for the Newport Beach Coed Soccer League and liaison to the Recreation Department for the City of Newport Beach. In that capacity, I work with City staff to organize and oversee the City’s only adult soccer program.
I am a community delegate to the HOA Board of Directors for my neighborhood in San Clemente, as well as a block captain for the Neighborhood Watch Program.
I also serve the Orange County Superior Court as a temporary judge, on an as-needed basis, for such matters as small claims and civil settlement conferences.
Personal Note: I was born and raised in Orange County, spending most of my formative years on South Orange County soccer fields (AYSO Region 84) and sandy beaches (Laguna main beach). I went to Capo Valley High School, and graduated from UCI with a degree in psychology. After college, I moved to Sacramento, where I graduated summa cum laude from McGeorge School of Law. I returned to South Orange County to pursue a practice as a civil defense litigator and trial attorney – which I have done successfully for the past decade.
Despite my busy work schedule, I have always had a calling to public service, and am honored and excited to lend my time, expertise and knowledge to the City of San Clemente. Having lived in South Orange County for over 30 years, I am deeply invested in, and committed to, the future of South Orange County. Moreover, I am uniquely sensitive to the many issues facing our community, including such perennial concerns as traffic congestion, beach pollution and the shortage of sport parks, and will work hard to promote improvement in these areas.
