The City of San Clemente offers youth sports programs for all ages, regardless of skill level, all seasons of the year. The Recreation Division believes that sports are an important activity in the field of recreation. Therefore, winning is not the essential goal; the benefit of participation and having fun is much more important. Some of these programs play in a league format, but are recreational in nature.

Friday Night Cheer 6-13 years

We are pleased to offer a sideline cheerleading element to the Friday Night Football program. Cheerleaders will cheer for their age appropriate flag football games on Friday nights at the Vista Hermosa Sports Park. Practices will include basic sideline cheers, jumps, and dance. Register Here

These programs are offered through the San Clemente After Hours program. They are open to all middle school students, including homeschool and private school students. Register by school site.

Fall offers exciting sports: FLAG FOOTBALL & GOLF
Games will be held on Thursdays at the Jim Johnson Field. A formal game schedule will be sent home to players & parents after the start of the season.

This course registers your young athlete in both sport seasons at a discounted rate. Flag football will begin on Tuesday, September 5. Basketball will begin January 2018.

Middle School Sports are offered year-round through the City of San Clemente After Hours Programs.
  • Fall: Flag Football, Golf
  • Winter: Basketball
  • Spring: Volleyball, Golf
  • Summer: Beach Volleyball

GoalZoneLogoGOAL ZONE SPORTS (Ages 6-12 years)
Goal Zone focuses on skill development, healthy living, and having fun! Each week students will learn new skills through drill training and practice games. On the sixth week, participants will partake in a tournament between each school. The program includes a light snack and t-shirt.

The program is held at the following sites:
Las Palmas Elementary, Marblehead Elementary, & Concordia Elementary
Children from all area schools are welcome to participate at any site.
