The City Clerk’s Office will accept applications through May 29, 2018, for the following City service opportunities:

Planning Commission – 3 vacancies for terms to expire June 30, 2020.  Click here to download a Planning Commission application.

Investment Advisory Committee – 1 vacancy for an Industry Specialist (City residency not required) and 1 vacancy for a citizen member (City residency required). Terms to expire June 30, 2010. Click here to download an Investment Advisory Committee application.

Friends of the Reserve Commission - 1 vacancy for a City At-Large Representative for a term to expire June 30, 2021, and 1 vacancy for a Talega Homeowner Representative for a term to expire June 30, 2020.  Click here to download an application for the Friends of the Reserve Commission.

The City Council will interview candidates and make appointments at its meetings of June 13 and 14, 2018. Applicants will be notified relative to the date/time of their interview. You can request an application form by calling 949-361-8200 or by sending an email to BeyerL@san-clemente.org.  You could also download an application by clicking on one of the above links.  Applications must be received by the City Clerk’s Office no later than MAY 29, 2018. Golf Course Committee

Staff Contact:  Gus Nelson | Golf Course Manager | 361-8388

Meeting Date/Time:      1st Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m.

Meeting Location:         Council Chambers, 100 Avenida Presidio

Size of Group/Term:      7 Members/2 years

Purpose:  The Golf Course Committee advises the City Council on issues relating to the use and operation of the Municipal Golf Course.  Committee members receive $55 per meeting, not to exceed $55 per month.

Planning Commission

Meeting Dates/Times: 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month.  Study Sessions begin at 6:00 p.m. and Regular Meetings start at 7:00 p.m.

Meeting Locations:      Study Session, Council Chambers, 100 Avenida Presidio

Regular Meeting, Council Chambers, 100 Avenida Presidio

Size of Group/Term:     7 Members/2 Years

Purpose:  The Planning Commission advises the Council on matters relating to the General Plan, zoning, Specific Plans, subdivisions and other types of land use issues.  The Commission also reviews specific applications for conditional use permits, variances, site plan reviews, architectural issues and signs.  Three (3) members of the Planning Commission serve as a Design Sub-committee that reviews the architectural treatment and signs proposed for new development and submits recommendations to the full Commission on these matters. The Planning Division provides staff support to the Commission. The Commissioners receive $110 per regular meeting, not to exceed $220 per month.

Beaches, Parks and Recreation Commission

Meeting Date/Time:     2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m.

Meeting Location:        Council Chambers, 100 Avenida Presidio, San Clemente

Size of Group/Term      7 Members/2 Years

Purpose:  The Beaches, Parks and Recreation Commission advises the City Council on matters pertaining to the planning, development and maintenance of parks, recreational facilities, parkways, and street trails. Commissioners receive $55 per meeting not to exceed $55 per month.

Coastal Advisory Committee

Meeting Date/Time:     2nd Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m.

Meeting Location:        Community Center, 100 Calle Seville (Ole Hanson Room)

Size of Group/Term      7 Members/2 Years

Purpose:  The Coastal Advisory Committee advises the City Council on coastal issues.  Committee members receive $55 per meeting not to exceed $55 per month.

Investment Advisory Committee

Meeting Date/Time:  Quarterly/5:30 p.m. 

Meeting Location:   Ocean View Conference Room - 100 Avenida Presidio

Size of Group/Term:  5 Members/2 Years

Purpose:  The Investment Advisory Committee meets quarterly to review investment practices for performance and conformity to policies, and to review and make recommendations on the City’s investment policy.

Representatives to the

Friends of the Reserve Commission

 

The City of San Clemente is accepting applications to fill two vacancies on the Friends of the Reserve Commission.  The first vacancy is for a City At-Large Representative, for a term to expire June 30, 2021.  City residency is required for this position.  The second vacancy is for a Talega Homeowner Representative, for a term to expire June 30, 2020.  Candidates for this position must be a homeowner in the Talega area of the City.  The Friends of the Reserve Commission is a 12-member advisory commission which will advise the Rancho Mission Viejo Land Trust on implementing existing public access, education and recreation programs and developing new public access, education and recreation programs for the Rancho Mission Viejo Habitat Reserve lands, including the Richard and Donna O’Neill Conservancy.

Applications will be accepted in the City Clerk’s Office until 5:30 p.m. on May 29, 2018.
