The City has made a draft update of the Pier Bowl Specific Plan available for a 28 day public review and comment period before public hearings are held on the project. The Planning Commission is tentatively scheduled to consider the draft Specific Plan at a public hearing on April 17, 2019, and a City Council hearing is planned for May/June 2019.

The three objectives of the update are to: 1) change land uses and development standards to be consistent with updates to the City’s General Plan and Coastal Land Use Plan (LUP), 2) improve the plan’s organization, format, and maps; and 3) update the plan to reflect current conditions of the area. In addition, General Plan maps are being updated for consistency with a land use change in the LUP. This update includes changing two properties on the block of Coronado Lane from Residential High (RH) to Mixed Use 4 (MU 4).
